About

I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Riverside, where I specialized in Comparative Politics and International Relations. Before coming to UCR, I earned my M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Political Science and Public Administration from Middle East Technical University in Ankara.

My research has taken me into diaspora organizations, demonstrations, cultural events, political meetings, and community spaces across the United Kingdom, Germany, and the United States. This fieldwork informs my study of the relationship between authoritarian states and citizens living abroad.

Before beginning my doctoral studies, I worked as a university research assistant, a field researcher for a survey research company, and a project-based consultant for nongovernmental organizations in Turkey.

Outside academic work, I am an enthusiastic cook and baker, a collector of vintage clothing, a musical-theater fan, and a keen traveler.
